Salman Khan Cancels ‘Bigg Boss’ Shoot, Rushes to Hospital After NCP Leader Baba Siddique’s Tragic Shooting

October 13, 2024: NCP leader and former Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique tragically passed away on Saturday night (October 12, 2024) after being shot by three assailants in Mumbai’s Bandra East. The incident occurred outside the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, in Nirmal Nagar near Colgate Ground. Despite being rushed to Lilavati Hospital, the 66-year-old politician succumbed to his injuries. Mumbai Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the attack, which has sent shockwaves through both political and Bollywood circles.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar expressed deep sorrow in a statement on social media platform X, calling the attack “extremely unfortunate and condemnable.” Pawar also described Baba Siddique as a close friend and a colleague who tirelessly advocated for the minority community and championed secularism. He promised a thorough investigation into the incident.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also responded to the tragedy, stating that the Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar had confirmed the arrest of two alleged shooters, assuring the public that justice would be served.

Amid this heartbreaking news, Bollywood actor Salman Khan canceled his scheduled Bigg Boss shoot and rushed to Lilavati Hospital to offer his condolences to the Siddique family. Salman, who had a close relationship with Baba Siddique, has often been seen attending the politician’s annual iftar parties, a hallmark of Mumbai’s social scene. The actor’s fans expressed their concern on social media, urging him to enhance his security and take care of his safety in light of the incident. Several fans wrote on X, “Upgrade his security,” calling for Salman to prioritise his own protection.

The tragic loss of Baba Siddique has left a void in both the political and film fraternity, with many mourning the untimely death of a leader who left a significant impact on Mumbai’s social and political landscape.
