Salman Khan Deletes Ceasefire Post Amid Mixed Reactions Following India-Pakistan Peace Announcement

May 12, 2025 : The recent ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, announced on May 10, has stirred strong reactions across the country, including from the Bollywood fraternity. Among the voices was actor Salman Khan, who briefly shared his thoughts on social media before deleting the post.

In a tweet made on X (formerly Twitter), shortly after the ceasefire announcement, Salman wrote:

“Thank God for the ceasefire….”

Though the post was deleted within hours, it had already sparked a flurry of responses, reflecting the complex public sentiment surrounding the development — especially in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives on April 22.

Public Divided Over Actor’s Message

While some netizens welcomed Salman’s message as a call for peace and praised his hopeful tone, others criticized the timing of his statement.

One critical comment read:

“Salman Khan. He was silent for 2-3 days, then tweeted right after the ceasefire agreement. Remember him. Never watch his films again if you’re a true Indian.”

Others defended the actor, highlighting his consistent stance on peace and his prior acknowledgment of civilian suffering.

A supporter tweeted:

“We know Salman bhai as a person who always wants peace and love, not just with Pakistan but with all neighbouring countries. Civilians from India will die. Yesterday’s timing might not have been ideal, but he supports the PM’s ceasefire decision, which I think is right.”

Salman Khan’s Earlier Reaction to Pahalgam Attack

Salman had previously reacted to the Pahalgam tragedy with a post on April 22, where he condemned the violence and expressed solidarity with the victims.

“Kashmir, heaven on planet earth, turning into hell. Innocent people are being targeted, my heart goes out to their families. Ek bhi innocent ko maarna puri kainath ko maarne ke barabar hai,” he posted, invoking a powerful message of human empathy.

Background: Operation Sindoor and Aftermath

Following the Pahalgam attack, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, a targeted mission aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK). The operation was noted for its precision, carefully avoiding civilian and Pakistani military infrastructure despite reported pushback from across the border.

As the political and security implications of the ceasefire continue to unfold, the public spotlight remains fixed on how public figures — particularly in entertainment — navigate and respond to the sensitive subject of peace amid ongoing conflict.
