July 20, 2025: After Sikandar’s success, Bollywood actor Salman Khan is now preparing for his next thrilling production, Battle of Galwan. The 2020 battle between Chinese and Indian troops in the Galwan Valley, one of the bloodiest military encounters in contemporary Indian history, served as the inspiration for the war play, which was directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
According to a report, filming for Battle of Galwan is scheduled to begin in early August, kicking off in Mumbai before moving to the rugged terrains of Ladakh. A massive set is currently under construction at Mehboob Studio, where key early scenes focused on character-building will be filmed.
“The Mehboob Studio schedule is crucial,” a source told the publication. “It will include scenes that set up the personal journeys of the soldiers before they head to Ladakh for battle. The art and production teams have been working around the clock to create a realistic backdrop.”
Salman Khan, known for his physically demanding roles, will reportedly be part of the shoot from Day 1. In order to represent a soldier on the frontlines, the actor has been preparing since May through intense training. The Ladakh schedule will include full-scale war sequences, combat training, and night filming, making it one of Khan’s most physically demanding performances to date.
“It’s physically intense,” Salman said in an earlier interview. “With each passing year, month, and day, it becomes more challenging. I have to invest a lot more time now. Earlier, I could get into shape in just a week or two, but this time I’m running, kicking, punching — doing it all.”
While an official release date has not yet been confirmed, Battle of Galwan is tentatively slated for a May 2026 release.
The film aims to bring a dramatic, patriotic retelling of the Galwan conflict, promising to combine emotional storytelling with large-scale action. With Apoorva Lakhia at the helm and Salman Khan in lead, expectations are high for this ambitious project
