Salman Khan Unveils Release Date for ‘Angry Young Men: The Salim-Javed Story’ Docuseries

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has announced the eagerly awaited release of the docuseries Angry Young Men: The Salim-Javed Story. Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Salman shared the first look of the series, accompanied by a vibrant poster that captures the essence of the legendary screenwriting duo.

In his social media post, Salman Khan expressed his enthusiasm about the project, writing, “Salim Khan, Javed Akhtar in and as Angry Young Men” #AngryYoungMenOnPrime, New Series, Aug 20.” The docuseries is set to premiere on August 20, exclusively on Prime Video, bringing the compelling story of Salim-Javed to audiences worldwide.

Angry Young Men: The Salim-Javed Story delves into the lives and careers of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, the iconic screenwriting pair whose work reshaped Hindi cinema in the 1970s. The duo is renowned for their contributions to some of Bollywood’s most monumental films, including Sholay, Zanjeer, Deewaar, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, and Don. Their innovative storytelling and impactful dialogues have left an indelible mark on Indian cinema, with Sholay in particular being celebrated as a groundbreaking milestone in cinematic history.

The series, produced by Salman Khan Films, Excel Media & Entertainment, and Tiger Baby, is executive produced by a team of prominent figures including Salman Khan, Salma Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti. This collaboration brings together industry stalwarts to honor the legacy of Salim-Javed and their contributions to the film industry.

Namrata Rao, known for her impressive work in editing, makes her directorial debut with this docuseries. Angry Young Men will feature personal narrations from Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, providing an intimate look into their journey and the stories behind their legendary films. Additionally, the series will include insights from other notable figures in Indian cinema, further enriching the narrative.

The docuseries will be available on Prime Video, making it accessible to viewers in India as well as in over 240 countries and territories around the world.
