Salman Khan’s ‘Sikander’ Opens at ₹26 Cr, Fails to Match ‘Tiger 3’ Day 1 Numbers

Despite improved collections over ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan,’ the A.R. Murugadoss-directed ‘Sikander’ falls short of the blockbuster opening of ‘Tiger 3.’

March 31, 2025: Salman Khan’s much-anticipated Eid release, Sikander, opened with a box-office collection of ₹26 crore on its first day, as per early estimates from Sacnilk. While this marks a notable improvement over the actor’s previous outing Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (₹13 crore), it falls significantly short of Tiger 3’s thunderous ₹53 crore Day 1 opening.

Directed by Ghajini fame filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss, Sikander had high expectations riding on its shoulders, with a reported budget of ₹200 crore and a star-studded ensemble. Yet, the opening figures have been deemed underwhelming for a Salman-led festive release.

The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 20.95% in 2D and 22.96% in IMAX 2D. City-wise, Chennai led the charge with 46.67% occupancy, followed by Bengaluru (28%), Jaipur (24.67%), Kolkata (24.67%), Hyderabad (22%), NCR (21%) and Mumbai (20.67%).
