Samantha Ruth Prabhu Marks ‘New Beginnings’ With Debut Production ‘Subham’, Set For May 9 Release

May 07, 2025: Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, known for her impactful performances across Indian cinema, has now taken a bold new step into film production with her debut venture, Subham. The horror-comedy, backed by her newly launched banner Tralala Moving Pictures, is set to release on May 9, and Samantha is visibly emotional about this milestone.

Sharing a series of behind-the-scenes glimpses and moments from promotional events on Instagram, Samantha wrote, “It’s been a long road, but here we are… New beginnings @tralalamovingpictures #Subham releases on May 9th.”

Among the images, one heartwarming moment showed her sharing a selfie with director Raj Nidimoru, with whom she previously collaborated on The Family Man and Citadel: Honey Bunny. The post received love from fans and friends alike, with designer Masaba Gupta commenting, “You look incredible.”

Fans flooded the comments section with messages of support. One user wrote, “All The Best Producer Madam For #Subham,” while another added, “Bigg success coming soon… Producer Sam.”

Directed by Praveen Kandregula and written by Vasanth Mariganti, Subham features a talented ensemble cast including Harshith Malgireddy, Shriya Kontham, Charan Peri, and Shalini Kondepudi. The trailer has already piqued audience interest with its quirky tone and horror-comedy blend.

Speaking about the film, Samantha said, “Subham is my very first feature film venture as a producer and bringing it to audiences feels just as exciting and nerve-wracking as it did when I was making my acting debut. I loved the film’s concept and the quirky sensibility it’s made with. I hope everyone enjoys the Subham experience on the big screen.”

Meanwhile, Samantha was last seen in Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Indian spin-off of the global Prime Video espionage universe. While the series lost the Best Foreign Language Series award at the 30th Critics’ Choice Awards to Squid Game, it earned critical acclaim at the Filmfare OTT Awards 2024, securing wins for Best Series (Critics) and Best Screenplay.

With Subham, Samantha is not just stepping into a new role but setting the stage for many more exciting projects under her production house.
