April 27, 2025: Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all set to make her debut as a producer with the upcoming Telugu horror-comedy film Subham. Directed by Praveen Kandregula, the film stars Harshith Malgireddy, Shriya Kontham, Charan Peri, Shalini Kondepudi, Gavireddy Srinivas, and Shravani in key roles. The quirky and entertaining project is slated to hit theatres on May 9.
Sharing her excitement, Samantha said in a press note, “Subham is my very first feature film venture as a producer, and bringing it to audiences feels just as exciting and nerve-wracking as it did when I was making my acting debut.” She added that she was drawn to the film’s concept and tone and believed it was the perfect launch for her banner, Tra-la-la Moving Pictures, which she founded in 2023.
The film is written by Vasanth Mariganti and promises a fun, spooky experience on the big screen.
Meanwhile, Samantha was last seen in the Indian spin-off series Citadel: Honey Bunny, opposite Varun Dhawan. Directed by Raj & DK, the series recently missed out on the Best Foreign Language Series award at the Critics’ Choice Awards to Squid Game, but had earlier bagged wins at the Filmfare OTT Awards 2024, including Best Series (Critics) and Best Screenplay.
Citadel: Honey Bunny is part of the larger Citadel universe created by the Russo Brothers, following a global spy agency’s battle against a shadowy syndicate known as Manticore.
