Samay Raina, Anurag Kashyap’s Condom Ad Leaves Fans Shocked: ‘Censor Board Slept on This?

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and comedian Samay Raina have teamed up for a new condom brand ad that is taking social media by storm. Written by Samay himself, the ad features a no-holds-barred roast session between the two, hilariously taking shots at everything from Kashyap’s personal life to their own recent controversies.

The ad’s edgy humor has been met with widespread praise online for its boldness and creative freedom, with many fans calling it a game-changer for Indian advertising.

Jabs and Laughs: “Creative Freedom at Its Peak”

In the ad, Kashyap is shown directing Raina in a simple shoot for the brand, but the conversation quickly devolves into a series of cutting jokes. No topic is off-limits, with the duo referencing Kashyap’s multiple marriages, his history of delayed film releases, and even the recent highly-publicized Ranveer Allahbadia controversy.

Viewers have been quick to react to the unfiltered content, with many expressing surprise that the ad was approved. “Can’t believe the censor board passed this masterpiece,” one user commented. Another praised the writing, saying, “Creative freedom at its peak,” while a third noted that only someone like Kashyap could stand up to Samay’s sharp wit.

The ad’s success has further cemented Samay Raina’s popularity, who is currently riding a wave of success after drawing an impressive crowd of 25,000 to his recent live show in Mumbai, following a period of backlash from the India’s Got Latent controversy.

A Busy Time for Both

The collaboration comes at a busy time for both stars. Anurag Kashyap is set to make a return to his signature gritty style with the crime drama Nishaanchi, starring debutant Aaishvary Thackeray, which releases on September 19. He is also stepping in front of the camera for the Telugu action thriller Dacoit, alongside Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur. His film Bandar, starring Bobby Deol, is also scheduled to have its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.

Meanwhile, Samay Raina is continuing his India tour, “Samay Raina Is Alive And Unfiltered,” with upcoming shows in Kolkata, Chennai, and Pune.
