March 28, 2025: Comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Friday as part of the ongoing investigation into the controversial YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent.’ This is Raina’s second appearance before the Cyber Cell, following his previous visit on February 24.
The investigation revolves around allegations of obscenity and vulgar content being promoted through the show. An FIR was filed earlier this month against several individuals linked to ‘India’s Got Latent,’ including Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Ranveer Allahbadia, and others. The FIR accuses the show of featuring sexually explicit discussions and obscene content that was accessible to the public on YouTube.

Amidst the legal scrutiny, Raina announced on Instagram that he would be rescheduling his India tour, offering refunds to ticket holders. “Hello guys, I am rescheduling my India tour. You all will get the refunds shortly, see you soon,” he wrote.
Joint Police Commissioner Ankur Jain confirmed that notices had been served to the individuals named in the FIR, but they had yet to comply. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are proceeding with legal procedures.
Earlier this February, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani appeared before the Guwahati Crime Branch, where his statement was recorded. Similarly, Rakesh Sawant, who was also featured on ‘India’s Got Latent,’ appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on February 27 to record her statement.
The controversy surrounding the show escalated after Ranveer Allahbadia made controversial remarks about a contestant involving their parents, which quickly went viral and attracted widespread criticism on social media. Allahbadia later issued a public apology, admitting that his comment was inappropriate and not humorous. He also promised to use his platform more responsibly in the future, stating, “Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect.”
