In a sharp and characteristically bold segment from his new YouTube special, Still Alive, comedian Samay Raina has revealed the “calculated lies” he told during his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 16.

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, a viral clip from the show surfaced where Samay admitted to fabricating a story about his grandmother being a massive fan of host Amitabh Bachchan. “My dadi has been dead for seven years,” Samay confessed to a roaring audience, explaining that he intentionally “played the room” to maintain a clean, “good boy” image on national television.

The comedian didn’t stop at admission; he went on to reveal the intrusive, “harami” thoughts he suppressed while sitting on the hot seat opposite the Bollywood legend.

Samay joked about a roast he refrained from delivering to Big B’s face: “Sir, aapne itna polio ka ad kiya, phir bhi apne bete ko paon pe kyu nahi khada kar paye sir” (Sir, you did so many polio ads, yet why couldn’t you help your own son stand on his own feet?). The remark, a biting reference to Abhishek Bachchan’s career, was used by Samay to illustrate the struggle of being a “versatile creator” who must alternate between an edgy internet persona and a sterilized TV version.

Samay used the KBC experience as a metaphor for the recent India’s Got Latent controversy, explaining that the audience’s backlash occurred because “clean” creators like Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps) tried to adopt his aggressive style. “A non-vegetarian can eat veg, but if a vegetarian eats non-veg, they will vomit,” Samay remarked, defending his brand of unfiltered comedy while acknowledging the human cost of viral fame.

This revelation follows a more vulnerable moment in the same special where Samay broke down in tears while discussing the threats faced by his friends during the Latent fallout.
