Sangeeta Bijlani Finally Addresses The Wedding Cards Rumour With Salman Khan; ‘It Wasn’t a Lie’
December 30, 2024: Salman Khan’s personal life has always been a hot topic, with his relationships often under public scrutiny. One of the most talked-about romances was with actress Sangeeta Bijlani, and their rumored wedding plans have remained a subject of curiosity for years. Recently, Sangeeta addressed these rumors head-on during her appearance on Indian Idol 15.
In a newly released promo for Indian Idol 15, contestant Manasi Ghosh asked Sangeeta Bijlani about the long-standing rumors of her wedding cards with Salman Khan being printed before the wedding was called off.
Judge Vishal Dadlani, visibly surprised by the question, encouraged Sangeeta to respond. In a calm yet candid manner, Sangeeta said:
“Jhoot toh nahi tha (It wasn’t a lie).”
Her brief yet impactful response left everyone on the set, including judges Vishal Dadlani and Shreya Ghoshal, visibly stunned. While the audience eagerly waited for her to elaborate, Sangeeta chose not to provide further details.
Sangeeta Bijlani and Salman Khan met on the sets of a TV advertisement in their early Bollywood days. Their relationship lasted nearly a decade, making it one of Salman’s longest-known romances. The two were reportedly set to marry, and wedding preparations, including the printing of invitation cards, were underway before the wedding was ultimately called off.
In 1996, Sangeeta married cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, but the marriage ended in 2019. Despite their separation, Salman and Sangeeta have maintained a cordial and affectionate relationship over the years.
In a previous interview, Sangeeta spoke about her enduring bond with Salman:
“Connections don’t break. The love between your partners, school friends—these things never go away. People will come and go, but connections remain. At one point, I was childish, but I’ve grown. Life is full of experiences.”
Sangeeta’s candid admission on Indian Idol 15 has reignited discussions on social media, with fans applauding her honesty and grace.
