Sania Mirza Hints at Finding Love on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’

Former tennis star Sania Mirza recently made a charming appearance on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show,’ sparking conversations about finding a “love interest” in her life. The upcoming episode, set to premiere on Saturday at 8 pm, also features celebrated athletes Saina Nehwal, Mary Kom, and Sift Kaur Samra.

A promo of the episode shows Sania engaging in a lively chat with host Kapil Sharma. Kapil humorously reminded Sania of Shah Rukh Khan’s past comment about playing her love interest if a film were ever made about her life. To this, Sania quipped, “Abhi mujhe pehle love interest dundna hai (I have to find a love interest first).”

Saina Nehwal shared a humorous anecdote, recalling how her mother, a huge fan of German tennis player Steffi Graf, encouraged her to switch from badminton to tennis, thinking it would be more lucrative.

Amidst the fun and laughter, Sania’s personal life was briefly touched upon. Her sister, Anam Mirza, had confirmed earlier this year that Sania and former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik had legally separated after being married since 2010. Anam shared on Instagram, “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead!”

Sania and Shoaib, who have been living in Dubai, welcomed their son, Izhaan Mirza Malik, in 2018. In January, Shoaib Malik announced his marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed.
