Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Love & War' to Shoot in Historic Mhow with Ranbir, Alia And Vicky
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period love triangle is heading to Madhya Pradesh for a 15-day schedule, utilizing the region’s British-era army history as a backdrop for the much-anticipated film.
August 15, 2025: Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director of the highly anticipated Love & War, is moving on to the next stage of production. The next big shooting schedule will take place in the historic cantonment town of Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. After the first shoot in Mumbai is done, the amazing cast, which includes Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, will film in the area for roughly 15 days.
Mhow was chosen as the film’s setting because of its rich military history and well-preserved pre-colonial architecture. The British Raj’s Fifth Division of Southern Command was based in the town, which is still a major military center today. Sources say that the production team is waiting for final approvals to start filming scenes that would bring the time before independence to life.
The plot of the movie is based on Raj Kapoor’s Sangam and will look at a love triangle set against a fake war. There are reports that the Mhow schedule will include some high-drama face-offs between co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
The movie has gotten a lot of attention, not only because of its famous cast but also because Bhansali, who is known for his movies like Padmaavat and Devdas, is directing Kapoor and Bhatt, who are a real-life couple. The team wants to finish filming by the end of 2025. After that, they want to go to Italy in October. The movie is set to come out in theaters on March 26, 2026.
