Videos From India Couture Week Go Viral, Sparking Fresh Debate On Actresses Vs. Professional Models. Netizens Slam Their “Uninterested” Performance, Calling For Nepo Babies To Stick To Acting
July 30, 2025: Videos of Bollywood actresses Sara Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor walking the runway at India Couture Week in Delhi went viral on Tuesday night. A lot of people on the internet didn’t like them. People on the internet remarked they weren’t interested in their performances and brought up the long-running issue about whether professional models or actors should walk the runway.
During India Couture Week, people made fun of her “disastrous” ramp walks, and the “nepo baby” issue is back on.
Sara Ali Khan was the primary model in Aisha Rao’s show. She walked down the runway in a pretty rose gold lehenga. It was hard to put on the dress because it had flowers, palm trees, and banana leaves on it that were inspired by nature. People on the internet soon chastised her for leaving, even though her hair was loose, her clothes were perfect, and her makeup was light.
People on the internet and in the fashion police said she was “too slow” and “had too many expressions” that weren’t needed for a ramp walk. “Who would want to pay her to walk?” “Total Disaster,” commented one person online. “Why does she have to walk with so many thumkas, and what are those poses?” someone said. Another person said it was “terrible.”
Khushi Kapoor stole the show from designer Rimzim Dadu. She wore a bralette and a skirt that appeared like it was made of clay. The outfits were modern versions of traditional Gujarati crafts and had things like patola and mirror work.
But a number of people on social media thought Khushi seemed “too bored” to wear the beautiful garment. People stated things like, “She has the energy of an uncle with arthritis walking around the park” and “Her speed was like a zombie walk.”
The critique quickly turned into a bigger conversation about nepotism in Bollywood and whether or not “nepo babies” are good at stopping shows. Many users on the internet said, “It’s better to stick with models than to hire these nepo babies to stop the show.”
Sara Ali Khan’s most recent movie, Anurag Basu’s Metro…In Dino, did well at the box office. There was Aditya Roy Kapur in it.
Nadaaniyan was the final movie Khushi Kapoor made. Ibrahim Ali Khan was the one who accomplished it. People made fun of the two performers’ acting, and the movie didn’t do well at the box office.
