March 28, 2025: Actor Sara Ali Khan recently revealed that despite her stardom, she doesn’t spend a single rupee without the green light from her mom, Amrita Singh. Speaking at the Times Now Summit 2025, the actor humorously confessed that her financial freedom is still tightly supervised by her mother—even her GPay account is linked to Amrita’s phone.

“I don’t even get pocket money. I can’t book a ticket without asking for the OTP that goes to her phone,” Sara said, drawing laughs from the audience. “She always knows where I am. Even if I try to be discreet, Instagram gives it away.”
Known for her candid personality, Sara added that she’s mindful about her spending. “I don’t enjoy spending frivolously. I love traveling, so I save up for that. I don’t have a Hermes bag—my mom does, and I borrow it. I still aspire to buy a Chanel someday, but I’m totally okay wearing Zara.”

Sara emphasized that financial discipline is something she’s learned over time. “Small investments in different places—that’s the mantra my mom has taught me.”
