Nora–Sanjay song to return with revised lyrics and apology after backlash

March 17, 2026: The controversy surrounding Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke continues to intensify, with the makers now planning to re-release the track with cleaner lyrics and an apology. Featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, the song from KD: The Devil was taken down from YouTube after facing backlash over its explicit content.

According to reports, lyricist Raqueeb Alam has written a revised version with toned-down lyrics. He revealed that the new version was recorded quickly after the controversy escalated and is expected to be released along with an official apology from the makers.

Amid criticism, Alam distanced himself from the original lyrics, claiming his role was limited to translating the Kannada version written by director Prem. He also admitted that the song carried double meanings and expressed discomfort over the final output, stating he had initially resisted writing such content.

Filmmaker Onir and singer Armaan Malik also slammed the song, questioning the standards of mainstream entertainment.

With legal complaints already filed and regulatory scrutiny mounting, all eyes are now on the revised version and whether it will quell the controversy.
