‘Sasta Bigg Boss’? Karan Johar’s 'The Traitors' Trailer Has The Internet Buzzing
May 30, 2025: Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has pulled the curtain back on one of the most anticipated reality shows of the year — The Traitors. The trailer, released today, introduces a star-studded cast of 20 contestants who will compete in a high-stakes game of strategy, deception, and betrayal, all set in an opulent and mysterious palace.
From the moment the trailer begins, Johar sets the tone: this isn’t your regular reality show. The series promises a mind-bending social experiment where trust is a liability and betrayal is the name of the game. “Seedhe saadhe log” are brought together to play a “sweet game,” Karan teases, before revealing a chilling twist — three of them are secret traitors who will “murder” the innocent each night.
Among the notable contestants are rapper Raftaar, social media star Apoorva Mukhija (aka Rebel Kid), television personalities Karan Kundrra, Jannat Zubair, and Jasmine Bhasin, internet sensation Uorfi Javed, and celebrity faces like Anshula Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, and Raj Kundra. Emotions run high in the trailer, with glimpses of arguments, accusations, breakdowns, and dramatic confrontations. Raftaar swears to quit rapping if he’s found to be a traitor, while Uorfi promises to shave her head.
The show is the Indian adaptation of the globally popular The Traitors, produced by All3Media International and BBC Studios India. Fans are already drawing comparisons to Indian reality staples. Some called it “a mix of Roadies, Splitsvilla, and Bigg Boss,” while others felt it might surpass Bigg Boss in drama and intensity.
The full list of contestants includes: Purav Jha, Karan Kundrra, Harsh Gujral, Ashish Vidyarthi, Apoorva Mukhija, Uorfi Javed, Jasmine Bhasin, Lakshmi Manchu, Raftaar, Elnaaz Norouzi, Nikita Luther, Anshula Kapoor, Raj Kundra, Janvi Gaur, Maheep Kapoor, Jannat Zubair, Mukesh Chhabra, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sahil Salathia, and Sufi Motiwala.
Set to premiere on June 12, new episodes of The Traitors will drop every Thursday at 8 PM on Prime Video. With Karan Johar’s signature flair and a gripping format, this show promises to be a wild ride of trust, lies, and ultimate survival.
