“Saw NRI Man Hitting Saif Ali Khan”: Amrita Arora Testifies in Hotel Brawl Case
March 30, 2025: Mumbai: Actress Amrita Arora Ladak testified in a Mumbai court on Saturday in connection with the long-pending 2012 hotel brawl case involving Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. The incident, which occurred at a five-star hotel in South Mumbai, involved an alleged altercation between Khan and NRI businessman Iqbal Sharma.

Recalling the events of February 22, 2012, Amrita told the court that the group, including Kareena Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Saif Ali Khan, and a few others, had been allocated a private dining enclosure. She stated they were enjoying a quiet evening when a man suddenly barged in, yelling and asking them to “shut up”.
“We were shocked. Saif immediately stood up and apologised politely,” she testified.
Amrita added that the man left after the apology, but the situation escalated later when Khan went to the washroom. Loud voices followed, and moments later, the same man allegedly returned and physically assaulted Saif.

“He came into our enclosure and hit Saif. We had to intervene to separate them,” she said, adding that the man also hurled abuses and issued threats.
At the time of the incident, Iqbal Sharma claimed Saif and his friends attacked him and his father-in-law Raman Patel, after he objected to their loud behavior. Saif was later accused of punching Sharma, fracturing his nose.
However, Saif has consistently denied initiating violence. He alleged that Sharma used abusive language toward the women in the group, which led to a confrontation.
Saif Ali Khan, along with friends Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi, has been charge-sheeted under Section 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.
The case continues in the Mumbai sessions court.
