Scarlett Johansson Admits Sending ‘Jurassic Park’ Trade Reports To Agents For Role

February 6, 2025: Scarlett Johansson, who is set to play the lead role in the highly anticipated Jurassic World Rebirth, recently revealed her long-time desire to join the iconic Jurassic Park franchise. In an interview with Variety, the actress admitted that she spent years forwarding trade reports about new Jurassic Park films to her agents, jokingly saying, “Hey, I’m available!” in the hopes of landing a role.

Johansson’s love for the franchise goes way back to her childhood. She shared how she was “crazy about” the original Jurassic Park film, even going so far as to sleep in a Jurassic Park pup tent in her shared bedroom for an entire year. Her passion for the series didn’t fade with time, and whenever a new movie was announced, she would eagerly send the news to her agents, hoping for a chance to join the world of dinosaurs.

The actress recalled an interesting moment while shooting for her Marvel film Black Widow in 2020 at Pinewood Studio in the UK. When she found out that Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard were filming Jurassic World: Dominion next door, Johansson couldn’t resist visiting the set. “Show me the sets! I want to participate!” she exclaimed at the time.

Her enthusiasm paid off when she eventually had the chance to meet with Steven Spielberg, the legendary director behind the original Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. While the meeting was initially meant to discuss potential projects, Johansson couldn’t hide her excitement about the Jurassic franchise. After hours of chatting, Spielberg turned to her and asked, “Do I hear you’re a huge superfan?” To which Johansson confirmed, “It is actually true. I’m a huge superfan.”

Now, Johansson leads the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth as Zora Bennet, a former mercenary who is now guiding a team of scientists on a mission to retrieve dinosaur blood that could hold the key to curing heart disease. With her long-time passion for the franchise and the incredible opportunity she’s now been given, Johansson’s journey in the world of Jurassic Park has come full circle.
