Scooter Braun Breaks Silence on Taylor Swift’s Revenge Song Rumors

July 18, 2025: Scooter Braun is finally opening up about “Vigilante S—,” Taylor Swift‘s sharp-edged 2022 track that many fans speculated was aimed at him and his divorce from Yael Cohen. But according to Braun, 44, those rumors don’t hold water.

“No, because I talk to Yael every day,” Braun said on the QUESTION EVERYTHING podcast with Danielle Robay on July 17. “My ex-wife is one of my best friends. We don’t even call each other ‘ex.’ That’s my partner — the mother of my children.”

Braun even revealed he has a tattoo on his finger that reads “same team,” a tribute to the strong co-parenting bond he shares with Cohen, 38. “She and I are on the same team for life,” he said. “So no, I never thought that was about us. She never thought it was about us. Everyone else kind of fed the fire. Great strategy move, but nah.”

Swift’s lyrics certainly sparked speculation: “She needed cold hard proof so I gave her some… now she gets the house, gets the kids, gets the pride… picture me thick as thieves with your ex-wife.” The song’s release coincided with the finalization of Braun’s divorce, fueling the gossip.

During the podcast, Braun also opened up about how the end of his marriage affected him far more than any music industry drama. “No one in my family had ever been divorced,” he said. “I had built up this foundation of ‘Scooter’ because I didn’t think ‘Scott’ was strong enough.”

He admitted that the breakdown of his marriage shattered the image he had built of a perfect life. “Perfect career, perfect wife, perfect life, the kids, the success — I thought that made me worthy of love,” he said. “When I couldn’t fix the marriage, I felt like a failure.”

But in hindsight, he called it “the greatest thing that ever happened” to him. “The ups and downs of artist life — the Taylor stuff — none of that actually affected me. Losing my marriage affected me.”
