Serial Intruder Grabs Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo Rushes To Protect Her

Pop superstar Ariana Grande was visibly startled and grabbed by a notorious serial event crasher, known as ‘Pyjama Man,’ at the Wicked For Good premiere in Singapore, prompting her co-star Cynthia Erivo to instantly rush in and physically shield her from the intruder.

November 14, 2025: A high-glamour evening turned into a security crisis at the Singapore premiere of the highly anticipated musical sequel, Wicked For Good, when an intruder breached security barriers and accosted pop star Ariana Grande on the red carpet.

The incident occurred as Grande, who plays Glinda, was walking the yellow carpet alongside her co-star Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba) and other cast members, including Michelle Yeoh. Video footage circulating widely on social media shows the man, identified as Australian national Johnson Wen (known online as “Pyjama Man”), jumping a barricade and rushing toward Grande, grabbing her arm and wrapping his arms around her.

Cynthia Erivo’s Instant Heroics

Grande, who has publicly discussed her struggles with PTSD and anxiety following the 2017 Manchester bombing, looked visibly shaken and startled by the sudden breach. Her co-star, Tony-winning actress Cynthia Erivo, reacted instantaneously, forcefully stepping between Grande and Wen, pulling the intruder off the singer, and protecting her until security personnel could intervene. Erivo and co-star Michelle Yeoh were seen comforting Grande before the team quickly escorted her away.

The man, a self-proclaimed “serial intruder” who has crashed events involving stars like Katy Perry and The Weeknd, later posted his own video of the incident on his Instagram account, seemingly bragging about the breach.

Johnson Wen’s caption on Instagram: “Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You.”

Fans Condemn the ‘Assault’

Netizens and fans were quick to slam the intruder’s behavior, calling the act “assault” and “harassment” that was done purely for online attention.

A fan wrote on X: “This is assault. Touching, and grabbing people without their consent is assault. Ariana Grande was assaulted and the person who did it thinks he’s cool for doing it… I’m glad Cynthia Erivo was there, I’m glad security was there, and I hope Ariana has time to rest and recover.”

Following the breach, international media reported that Johnson Wen, 26, was charged with public nuisance in a Singapore court. Despite the scare, the premiere eventually continued as planned, with security measures reportedly being heightened immediately after the incident.

Wicked For Good—the sequel to the 2024 blockbuster based on the beloved Broadway musical—is scheduled for release in theaters on November 21, 2025.
