Seth Rogen Reveals Fans Don’t Ask for Movie Quotes — They Just Want to Smoke Weed with Him

Hollywood star Seth Rogen opens up about his unusual fan requests, his personal bond with cannabis, and why sharing a joint can sometimes mean more than signing an autograph.

Seth Rogen has been a part of some of Hollywood’s most iconic comedies, but surprisingly, fans rarely approach him to hear their favorite lines from Superbad or Pineapple Express. Instead, they have a different — and much more personal — request.

During his appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast alongside Ben Stiller, Rogen revealed that people just want to smoke weed with him. “People don’t ask me to quote lines,” he admitted. “They just want to smoke weed with me.”

Host Josh Horowitz asked if he ever had rules about saying yes to such requests. The actor, who is also the co-founder of the cannabis lifestyle brand Houseplant, responded with a laugh: “I usually don’t. If it seems like it’ll really be special for the person, sometimes I will. I’ve had moments where I’m like, this is a big moment for this person. The least I could do is take a couple hits with them.”

Rogen has long been open about his love for cannabis, calling it an important part of his daily life. In an earlier interview with The Guardian, he described smoking weed as “a very therapeutic part of my day-to-day journey” — something so natural to him now that he doesn’t even question it.

But Rogen also acknowledges that not everyone reacts the same way. He shared how casual sessions with others have sometimes gone in unexpected directions. “I’ve been at parties with people and we’ll share a joint, and I’ll be fine. Then they’ll spiral into some kind of dark period for months. Years later, I’ll run into them and they’ll tell me, ‘The last time I saw you was the last time I smoked weed, and it was terrible.’”

Despite those stories, Rogen sees his unique tolerance as almost a gift. “I’m not physically gifted in many ways, but there’s one way in which I am — my ability to process weed,” he joked.
