Abhijeet on Their Fallout

During the podcast, Abhijeet clarified that while many people have criticized Shah Rukh Khan in the past, he never resorted to insults or disrespect. The singer expressed disappointment that Shah Rukh never reached out to patch things up.

“I’m older than him; he could have come and hugged me. I wasn’t expecting an apology, but he could’ve said, ‘Ho gaya yaar, chal yaar (it’s done, let’s move on), we’ll work together again.’ But people choose to ignore me. I wasn’t angry, just hurt.”

Abhijeet described their professional relationship as being similar to a ‘husband-wife’ dynamic, where disagreements are inevitable but a deep connection remains.

“No Memorable Songs After Me”

The singer confidently remarked that after their fallout, Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t had songs with the same timeless appeal as “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,” or “Yes Boss.”

“Chak De! India wasn’t a typical Shah Rukh album, and the newer songs lack the charm of the older ones. Lungi Dance? Obviously, I wouldn’t sing that. But tell me, is there any song after me, Udit Narayan, or Kumar Sanu that people still remember?”

Abhijeet on Dua Lipa Controversy

Abhijeet also addressed the recent controversy involving his son Jay Bhattacharya, who called out international pop sensation Dua Lipa for not crediting Abhijeet during her performance of the “Levitating” and “Woh Ladki Jo” mashup in Mumbai.

While Abhijeet admitted he was disappointed, he maintained that he wasn’t overly bothered by the lack of acknowledgment. “I don’t care who Dua Lipa is or if she credits me. The song exists because of me, and that’s enough.”

Abhijeet’s comments have reignited discussions among fans about the magic he and Shah Rukh Khan once created and whether they might ever collaborate again.
