Shah Rukh Khan Joins Forces with the Meer Foundation to Aid Punjab Flood Victims

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, through his Meer Foundation, has launched a comprehensive relief effort for the Punjab flood victims, distributing essential supplies to 1,500 households. His contribution follows significant aid from fellow actors Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan.

September 11, 2025: Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has stepped in to help with the state’s rescue and reconstruction efforts after a series of terrible floods that have ravaged 23 districts in Punjab. He has worked with local NGOs through his non-profit group, the Meer Foundation, to give 1,500 families who were devastated by the floods basic assistance kits.

The kits are meant to help families who have lost their homes and belongings right away by giving them things they need including medicines, hygiene supplies, food, mosquito nets, and mattresses. The organization said in a statement that the project will help communities in the districts of Amritsar, Patiala, Fazilka, and Firozpur, with a special focus on people living along the Ravi River.

Shah Rukh Khan’s organization would “adopt 500 homes” in Amritsar for rehabilitation, which is why he is now giving more help. The Meer Foundation worked with the Amritsar-based NGO Voice of Amritsar (VOA) to confirm this. They not only gave VOA essential household items like gas stoves and water purifiers, but they also supported VOA’s “Vidya ka Langar” initiative, which gives free school supplies to children who have had to leave their homes.

The terrible floods that have killed more than 50 people and forced hundreds of thousands to leave their homes have gotten a lot of attention from the film industry.

Shah Rukh Khan’s help is just one of several celebrity-led attempts to help people in need. Akshay Kumar promised ₹5 crore and called his donation “sewa.” Salman Khan’s Being Human Foundation donated five rescue boats and pledges to sponsor villages for long-term recovery.

Other well-known people, including as Diljit Dosanjh, Ammy Virk, and Sonu Sood, have also used their resources to help the flood victims by sending them food, medical supplies, and people to help them.
