Shah Rukh said he was in Delhi when he heard the devastating news. “I was sleeping, and they were playing my song ‘Aisi Deewangi’ from Deewana. I thought I’d made it big. I woke up and saw the news that she had died… She fell from a window. It was one of the biggest shocks,” he said. “I think I was supposed to do another film with her.”

Divya Bharti: A Star Gone Too Soon

Divya’s career had taken off rapidly—starting with Tamil cinema, she rose to fame in Telugu films like Bobbili Raja (1990) and Rowdy Alludu (1991). Her Hindi film debut came in Vishwatma (1991), followed by major hits like Shola Aur Shabnam, Balwaan, and Dil Hi Toh Hai.

In 1992 alone, she had 12 releases—two of them with Shah Rukh Khan.

More than 30 years later, her charm and talent remain unforgettable. And for Shah Rukh Khan, Divya Bharti will always be remembered as one of the brightest stars who left too soon.
