June 14, 2025: Shakira’s much-anticipated concert at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Friday night was abruptly postponed at the last minute, leaving thousands of fans frustrated and furious. The sudden cancellation was attributed to structural issues at the venue, according to Live Nation, the event organizer.

Before the postponement was announced, fans had been stuck waiting outside the stadium in scorching heat, some for over an hour, with temperatures soaring above 90°F (32°C).

Social media was flooded with posts from concertgoers sharing their experiences of long lines, intense heat, and people fainting due to the delay in entry. “One hour in line with temperatures over 32 Celsius, people fainting and Alamodome and Shakira doesn’t care at all about the fans,” one attendee tweeted. Others criticized the venue for not opening the gates on time despite the advertised entry time of 5:30 PM.

Shortly after these complaints gained traction online, Live Nation confirmed that Shakira’s performance was postponed due to unforeseen structural issues at the Alamodome. They assured fans that all tickets would remain valid for the rescheduled date, which will be announced soon, and apologized for the inconvenience caused.

However, the apology did little to calm the angry fans, many of whom voiced their disappointment not only at the venue’s handling but also at Shakira’s team. Some speculated whether this was part of a larger pattern, pointing out that the Colombian singer had canceled shows in other cities at the last minute recently, citing similar structural problems.

“This is just a bad joke at this point. When is Shakira going to fire her entire team and work with people that are at her level?” one frustrated fan tweeted. Another questioned the professionalism of the team, asking why such issues were not caught earlier.

As fans await the new concert date, the Alamodome and Shakira’s team face growing pressure to ensure better communication and management to prevent such disappointments in the future.
