Businessman Sanjay Passi on wife Shalini Passi's overnight fame: 'I am here to serve her'
December 3, 2024: After her vibrant and captivating appearance on the Netflix reality show Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, Shalini Passi, an art collector and socialite, has become a viral sensation. Social media users have dubbed her a “relatable icon,” and her popularity now rivals the Bollywood stars featured on the show.
Shalini’s husband, Sanjay Passi, chairman of Pasco Group—a leading name in Tata Motors-certified dealerships in North India—shared his thoughts on her newfound fame during an appearance on We The Women Asia’s forum with journalist Barkha Dutt.
When asked how he felt about being known as “Shalini Passi’s husband,” Sanjay humbly replied, “I feel very proud about it. When people say, ‘Are you Shalini Passi’s husband?’, I say ‘Yes,’” folding his hands in gratitude.
Speaking about Shalini being called the “national crush,” Sanjay added, “It was a surprise for me. Overnight, I couldn’t have imagined this. What she has done is amazing, and I feel very proud of her.”
Despite the buzz, Shalini remains unfazed by her overnight stardom. When asked how she has adjusted to the spotlight, she responded confidently, “I was always a star at home. For me, nothing has changed.”
She added, “Everybody knows me now, and I hope I can keep delivering. I want to keep following my dreams and make everyone happy while I’m doing it.”
During the interview, Sanjay Passi revealed a personal anecdote about their love story. “She’s a queen, and I’m here to serve her,” he said endearingly. Shalini shared how their marriage came to be, recalling an incident where Sanjay’s family gatecrashed a wedding just to meet her.
“I was at my friend’s sister’s wedding when a couple of girls approached me and asked, ‘Are you married?’ They went back and told their mom they had found the perfect girl for Sanjay bhaiya. That evening, his family came to meet me. It was an arranged marriage, but my husband is my universe,” she shared.
As Shalini continues to captivate audiences with her authenticity and charm, fans are eager to see what’s next for the art collector turned reality TV sensation. Whether she’s on-screen or pursuing her passions, she remains grounded and committed to inspiring others.
