July 21, 2025: Bollywood star Shilpa Shirodkar has disclosed a startling incident from her life in which, while filming *Raghu Veer* in 1995, there were unfounded rumors that she had died. She further revealed that the movie’s producer, Gulshan Kumar, had planned this macabre rumor as a publicity gimmick.

In a candid interview, Shilpa recounted how she was completely unaware of the speculation at the time. The rumours of her demise began spreading after the release of her film Bewafa Sanam (also released in 1995). Shilpa was in Kullu Manali shooting with Suniel Shetty when the news broke.

“I was in Kullu Manali. My dad was trying to call the hotel, because we didn’t have mobile phones at that time. I was shooting with Suniel Shetty there. Everyone who was watching the shoot there kept thinking if this is Shilpa or someone else because they knew the news,” she shared.

When Shilpa went back to her room, she discovered a plethora of missed calls, which demonstrated her parents’ anxious concern. She went on to say, “My parents were worried, there was a headline in a newspaper that Shilpa Shirodkar was shot dead,” emphasizing how serious the lie was.
