Shocking Chaos at Miley Cyrus Premiere: What Went Wrong? Watch!
June 08, 2025: Miley Cyrus showcased remarkable composure during the premiere of her visual album-inspired film Something Beautiful at the Tribeca Festival in New York on June 6. The event, held at the iconic Beacon Theatre, was intended to celebrate the release of her new film, but was unexpectedly disrupted when some audience members loudly demanded that Miley sing—believing they had purchased tickets to a concert.
During a post-screening Q&A session with producer Panos Cosmatos and co-directors, several attendees shouted over the panel, insisting Miley perform live. One person was heard yelling, “We thought this was a concert, we paid $800—sing!” Another called out, “Are you actually going to sing?”

Despite the interruption, Miley responded with grace and humility, treating the crowd to a heartfelt a cappella performance of her 2009 hit The Climb. The spontaneous moment was met with loud applause and cheers, though the rude behaviour of the disruptive attendees quickly drew backlash online.
Supporters flooded social media with praise for Miley’s professionalism. One fan wrote, “You are a shining gem! You handled those disrespectful fans with such grace and beauty!” Another commented, “Shout out to you Miley for being so nice and professional… HOW ON EARTH are people making this moment about themselves? So disappointing.”
Rather than focusing on the negativity, Miley shared her gratitude in an emotional Instagram post:
“Seeing Something Beautiful on the big screen at @tribeca @beacontheatre surrounded by the screams of the audience was so worth every bit of effort lovingly laboured into this visual album. Tonight was emotional, deep, fun & fabulous… YOU, the crowd, were my absolute favourite of all. I love you.”
Something Beautiful!—a companion film to Miley’s upcoming album, inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall—is set for theatrical release on June 12.
Meanwhile, fans continued to voice their frustration online at the audience’s entitlement. One wrote on Twitter, “How dare you disrespect MILEY CYRUS at her own event because YOU didn’t read what you were buying a ticket for?” Others echoed the sentiment: “Grown adults not even reading what they are paying for at the Tribeca Film Festival. Poor Miley. Disgusting.”
