March 27, 2025: On the occasion of World Theatre Day, filmmaker Shoojit Sircar took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, recalling his early theatre days in Delhi.
He shared a black-and-white photograph on Instagram from his time with the amateur theatre group ‘Act One,’ where he honed his skills and grew as a person.
In the heartfelt post, Shoojit Sircar expressed his gratitude to the group, specifically thanking his mentor, the legendary N K Sharma (Panditji). He also thanked Parthiv for sharing the cherished picture.
“Wishing all my fellow thespians a very Happy World Theatre Day!” he wrote, reminiscing about how the experiences shaped him and his filmmaking journey.
Shoojit, who is best known for acclaimed films like Vicky Donor, Piku, October, and Gulabo Sitabo, recently collaborated with Abhishek Bachchan on the thought-provoking film I Want to Talk. The film dives deep into themes of resilience, human connection, and a father’s emotional journey to reconcile with his estranged daughter after learning he has just 100 days to live.
