‘I Developed a Draft but…’ When asked about the current status of the Kishore Kumar biopic and his football-themed film, Shoojit explained, “I had been working on a script on the life of Kishore Kumar. I spent almost three to four years researching with the family, but during that time, I learned that other scripts, including one by Anurag Basu, were also being developed. I had a draft ready, but I didn’t see the point in two people doing the same thing, so I put it on hold. Once you lose the momentum, it becomes a big challenge to go back to it.”

He further mentioned a similar issue with another project, a film titled 1911 about the Mohun Bagan football team and the British. “The script didn’t reach a satisfactory level, and I lost the momentum. But I am currently working on other films.”

Shoojit Sircar’s Journey in Bollywood Shoojit made his directorial debut with the war drama Yahaan, starring Jimmy Sheirgill and Minissha Lamba. Over the years, he has directed several acclaimed films, including Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe, Piku, October, Gulabo Sitabo, and Sardar Udham. His unique storytelling style and ability to bring out the best in his actors have earned him widespread acclaim.
