Shraddha Kapoor, RajKummar Rao starrer ‘Stree 2’ gets release date

Finally, the makers of the much-awaited movie Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, have announced its release date. On Friday morning, Shraddha treated fans to this exciting news.

Sharing the film’s production house Maddock Films’ post on her Instagram stories, she wrote, “Woh aa rahi hai. 15th August ko!!!!!!” The sequel, directed by Amar Kaushik, will hit theatres on Independence Day this year, August 15.

The horror-comedy will face a big clash at the box office with Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2. Maddock Films shared an announcement video with the caption, “Iss swatantrata diwas, aa rahi hai #Stree fir se! #Stree2 in cinemas this Independence Day, 15th August 2024. Catch the #Stree2 Teaser exclusively in cinemas with #Munjya from today.”

Fans quickly expressed their excitement in the comments section. One user wrote, “O stree jaldi aana.” Another commented, “Pushpa 2 vs Stree 2, who will win?” A third remarked, “Team took ‘Oo Stree jaldi aana’ seriously,” while another posted, “Super excited for Stree 2.”

Building curiosity among fans, the makers of Stree 2 shared that the film’s teaser will be unveiled directly in theatres during Munjya, a horror-comedy also backed by Maddock Films and part of the Stree universe.

Stree, released in 2018, was declared a blockbuster hit. The sequel will be out in theatres this August. The phrase “Oo Stree Kal Aana” from the movie has become a popular meme, and the film’s music, with tracks like “Milegi Milegi” and “Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe,” also gained significant attention.
