Sidharth Malhotra is set to appear as a cop in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming digital series ‘Indian Police Force’. He expressed his honor at the opportunity to portray a police officer on screen, a sentiment shared during the ‘Indian Police Ko Salaam’ event in Delhi, celebrating 75 years of the Indian Police Service. This event, organized by Prime Video and Rohit Shetty Picturez, also paid homage to the Delhi Police Officers.
The series, marking Rohit Shetty’s digital directorial debut, is part of his iconic cop universe and is intended as a tribute to the dedication and patriotism of Indian police officers. Rohit Shetty reflected on his experience working with Mumbai Police and emphasized the sacrifices made not only by the officers but also their families.
Sushant Sreeram, Country Director at Prime Video India, highlighted the unifying power of storytelling and streaming services in bringing diverse cultures together. He underlined the series as a way to honor the Indian Police Service’s contributions. Aparna Purohit, Head of Originals at Prime Video, expressed gratitude towards the police force and their families, noting the series as a portrayal of their heroism and heart.
The event at the National Police Memorial included performances by the Delhi Police Band and sand artist Rahul Arya. The unveiled trailer of ‘Indian Police Force’ promises an action-packed drama, intensifying the suspense in a narrative about the valor and challenges of police officers. The series stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Vivek Oberoi, and others, and will release on Prime Video on January 19.
