Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 7: Salman Khan's Film Enters ₹100 Cr Club Globally Despite Poor Reviews
April 6, 2025: Salman Khan’s latest release, Sikandar, has managed to cross the coveted ₹100 crore milestone at the global box office within a week of its release. Despite facing harsh reviews and witnessing a significant drop in footfalls after a strong opening, the film has surprised many with its international performance.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, the political-thriller-turned-masala-entertainer released on March 30 over the Eid 2025 weekend, collecting ₹26 crore on Day 1 in India. However, it couldn’t crack into Salman’s top five highest-grossing openers.

While Sikandar showed promise initially, domestic occupancy dropped by over 40%, with Day 7 earnings falling to ₹72 lakh. In stark contrast, overseas figures surged, taking the global tally past ₹150 crore, according to trade reports by Sacnilk.
Interestingly, the film is set to surpass Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force in terms of overseas box office numbers, nearing the ₹50 crore mark abroad.
Despite a promising trailer and high pre-release buzz, Sikandar has been criticised for its inconsistent screenplay and underwhelming performances. Viewers cited the lack of depth in storytelling and called it a wasted opportunity for a potentially powerful political drama.
The film’s IMDb rating fluctuated between 7.2 and 5.0, stabilizing at 7.5 by the end of its first Saturday.
With theatre footfalls declining, fans are now eagerly awaiting the OTT release of Sikandar. Though the platform and release date are yet to be announced, expectations are that a digital premiere could happen within a month.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Salman Khan Films, Sikandar stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar in key roles.
