Sikandar Box Office Day 10: Salman Khan’s Film Sees Dip, Crosses ₹105 Crore in India

Despite a strong start and ₹200 crore worldwide, AR Murugadoss’ action drama Sikandar slows down with ₹1.35 crore on Tuesday, falling short of blockbuster expectations.

April 9, 2025: Salman Khan’s action-packed comeback film Sikandar has shown signs of slowing down at the domestic box office. On its tenth day of release, the film earned approximately ₹1.35 crore net in India, taking its total Indian collection to around ₹105.60 crore, according to data from Sacnilk.

Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar hit theatres on March 30. The film opened well, raking in ₹90.25 crore in its first five days, but has since seen a dip in business. Over the second weekend, it collected ₹3.5 crore on Friday, followed by ₹4 crore and ₹4.75 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Monday’s earnings dropped to ₹1.75 crore, with Tuesday bringing in slightly less at ₹1.35 crore.

While Sikandar has crossed the ₹200 crore mark worldwide in just nine days, it hasn’t quite captured the blockbuster tag typically associated with a Salman Khan release. It has, however, outperformed Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, though it still lags behind the success of Tiger 3.

Director AR Murugadoss on Creative Compromises

Speaking to PTI, director AR Murugadoss opened up about the challenges of working with megastars like Salman. “When working with superstars, you cannot be 100% true to the script,” he said. “There are compromises for the audience, the fan base, and the opening. We have to satisfy fans and think about them.”

He further added, “Superstars want to keep their stardom strong and growing. That means learning how to cater to their fanbase while maintaining your directorial vision.”

About Sikandar

Sikandar features an ensemble cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, and Jatin Sarna. Salman Khan stars as Sanjay Rajkot, with Rashmika playing his on-screen wife Saisri.

Despite high expectations and a powerful lineup, Sikandar is now facing the test of sustaining audience interest in its second week. Whether it manages to pick up pace again or settles for a mid-level hit remains to be seen.
