AR Murugadoss’ Eid release Sikandar earns ₹3.75 crore on Friday, taking its domestic total to ₹94 crore amid online leak concerns and mixed reviews.

April 5, 2025: Salman Khan’s much-awaited Eid release, Sikandar, is showing signs of slowdown at the box office. On Day 6, the action drama directed by AR Murugadoss earned an estimated ₹3.75 crore, bringing its total India net to ₹94 crore, according to early reports by Sacnilk.

In contrast, Salman’s last release, Tiger 3, had already crossed the ₹200 crore mark within its first week, making Sikandar’s performance a cause for concern—especially for a festive release starring one of Bollywood’s biggest draws.

Despite this, the team remains hopeful that the weekend may bring some relief, especially as families flock to theatres for post-Eid celebrations.

Global numbers and piracy issues Worldwide, Sikandar has reportedly grossed ₹169.78 crore in 5 days, with ₹42 crore coming from overseas markets. However, the film’s trajectory may have been affected by its early online leak, which the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) condemned, calling for stricter enforcement of anti-piracy laws.

About the film

  • Sikandar* tells the story of Sanjay Rajkot, played by Salman Khan, who fights against a corrupt political dynasty. Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Saisri. The ensemble cast includes Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kishore, Jatin Sarna, and Sanjay Kapoor.

With lukewarm reviews, mixed word-of-mouth, and piracy challenges, Sikandar faces an uphill climb to the ₹100 crore mark domestically. All eyes are now on its Saturday-Sunday performance, which could decide its long-term fate at the box office.
