‘Sikandar’ Crosses ₹100 Crore Mark in India, But Box Office Run Falls Flat Ahead of ‘Jaat’ Release
April 7, 2025: ‘Sikandar’ Crawls Past ₹100 Crore in India After 8 Days, Faces Fan Backlash and ‘Jaat’ Competition
Salman Khan’s latest Eid release Sikandar has officially crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the Indian box office on day 8. However, despite the milestone, the film’s performance has been widely regarded as disappointing—due to weak storytelling and what fans describe as a lack of commitment from the superstar.

According to trade portal Sacnilk, the film opened with ₹26 crore, followed by ₹29 crore on Monday, but witnessed a steep fall as the week progressed—earning just ₹6 crore on Thursday. The first-week collection stood at ₹90.25 crore.
In its second weekend, Sikandar made ₹3.5 crore on Friday, ₹4 crore on Saturday, and approximately ₹4.5 crore on Sunday—bringing the total to ₹102.25 crore. The movie logged a low 11.5% occupancy rate on Sunday, reflecting the waning audience interest.

The film’s poor reception has led to criticism from fans, some of whom recently met Salman Khan in person to express their disappointment. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, fans urged the actor to return to working with directors like Kabir Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar, with whom he delivered major blockbusters in the past.
A source close to the meeting stated,
“They voiced their displeasure about Sikandar and recent films, showing him how their concerns have been trending on X. Salman acknowledged that something felt off about Sikandar right from the beginning.”
Reportedly, Salman promised fans that he would be more selective with his projects going forward, focusing on scripts that align with their expectations.
With Sunny Deol’s high-octane action drama Jaat set to release soon, Sikandar’s box office momentum could take an even bigger hit. Moviegoers and analysts suggest Sikandar may struggle to maintain its position if it fails to attract weekend footfall.
Despite the earnings milestone, trade experts believe Sikandar has fallen short of the usual standards set by Salman Khan’s Eid releases, which often comfortably soar past ₹300 crore. The road ahead appears bumpy for the film unless strong word-of-mouth builds—which, so far, seems unlikely.
