Singer Aubrey O’Day Not Testifying in Diddy Trial—But Hints at This Development
New York | May 17, 2025 — Aubrey O’Day, former Danity Kane singer and longtime critic of Sean “Diddy” Combs, said she is not currently testifying in the hip-hop mogul’s federal sex-trafficking trial, despite swirling rumors and her presence in New York.
“I’m not here to testify for the Diddy trial, that I know of,” O’Day, 41, said Friday on her new iHeartRadio podcast, Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Present: Aubrey O’Day, Covering the Diddy Trial.
That said, O’Day dropped a notable hint: she was contacted by Homeland Security and had a meeting with officials — the same agency that raided Combs’ homes earlier this year.
Earlier this week, speculation flared when O’Day posted videos from Manhattan rooftops and captioned an Instagram Story with “Hey New York!!! Where y’all think I should head first?” — alongside a justice scale emoji.
Although these posts stirred assumptions she was preparing to testify, O’Day clarified on her podcast that she was only in New York to “enjoy” herself and report on the trial, not to take the stand.
On her podcast, O’Day praised Cassie Ventura — Diddy’s ex-girlfriend — who concluded four emotionally grueling days of testimony Friday.
“It feels very honest. It feels very open, vulnerable, horrific,” O’Day said. “It’s horrific that she had to go through so much.”
Ventura testified to abuse, coerced sex acts (“Freak-Offs”), and drug-fueled trauma during her 11-year relationship with Combs.
O’Day has long accused Combs of grooming and emotional manipulation during her time on MTV’s Making the Band and with Bad Boy Records. She previously claimed she was fired from Danity Kane in 2008 after refusing his alleged advances.
“[Combs] is on camera saying how much he hates it, but off-camera telling me all the ways I needed to be groomed—down to my toenails,” she told Crysis Queen in 2024.
In a 2023 Call Her Daddy interview, she added:
“I wasn’t willing to do what was expected of me—not talent-wise, but in other areas.”
While O’Day may not be testifying, another Danity Kane member, Dawn Richard, did take the stand Friday. She testified to witnessing multiple instances of Diddy’s violence toward Ventura. Her testimony will continue on Monday.
