Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 2: Aamir Khan's Film Doubles Earnings, Crosses This Mark
Mumbai | June 22, 2025 — Sitaare Zameen Par box office collection continues its upward trend, with Aamir Khan’s latest release recording a remarkable surge in earnings on Day 2. Directed by RS Prasanna, the film brought in an estimated ₹21.5 crore on Saturday, almost double its opening day earnings of ₹10.7 crore, taking the total to ₹32.2 crore nett in India.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the sports drama has capitalized on strong word-of-mouth and critical praise, pulling in bigger crowds on Saturday. The jump in collections indicates a solid weekend trajectory for the emotional drama that marks Aamir Khan’s return to the big screen after Laal Singh Chaddha.
For comparison, Aamir’s previous outing Laal Singh Chaddha had earned just ₹18.96 crore in two days, making Sitaare Zameen Par’s performance a notable improvement. Other recent films like Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force clocked ₹34.25 crore in two days, while Kesari Chapter 2 lagged at ₹17.5 crore.

With Sunday expected to bring in even larger footfalls, trade analysts believe the film could easily cross the ₹50 crore mark by the end of its first weekend.
Sitaare Zameen Par tells the story of Gulshan, a disgraced basketball coach played by Aamir Khan, who is assigned by the court to coach a team of neurodivergent individuals after a DUI offense. What begins as resistance turns into transformation, both for the coach and his team.
Genelia Deshmukh stars as Sunita, Gulshan’s wife, lending emotional depth to the storyline. The film also features a talented ensemble cast including Dolly Ahluwalia, Brijendra Kala, Gurpal Singh, and newcomers like Aroush Datta, Simran Mangeshkar, and Rishabh Jain.
Billed as a spiritual sequel to the 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par, this film explores themes of inclusion, personal growth, and empathy—this time through the lens of sports and neurodiversity.
Hindustan Times’ review of the film states, “Aamir is good at comedy, and here too he’s back to that genre. He’s at ease with his co-stars here, and the comfort translates.” Early viewers have praised the film’s mix of humour and heart, and social media sentiment has been overwhelmingly positive.
