Sitaare Zameen Par Sees Sharp Monday Dip, Earns ₹8.5 Cr on Day 4 Despite Weekend Surge
June 24, 2025: After a solid weekend at the box office, Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par witnessed a significant drop in earnings on its first Monday. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film collected just ₹8.5 crore on Day 4, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹66.65 crore.
The film, which had raked in ₹27.25 crore on Sunday alone, failed to maintain momentum going into the new week. Despite the dip, Sitaare Zameen Par has already surpassed the lifetime collection of Aamir’s previous film Laal Singh Chaddha, which had capped at ₹61.36 crore in India.
On the global front, Sitaare Zameen Par is inching closer to the ₹100 crore milestone, with ₹95.75 crore reportedly earned in just three days worldwide.
The film, Aamir Khan’s first release in nearly three years, has received acclaim from audiences and industry veterans alike. Lyricist Javed Akhtar praised the film on social media, stating, “Who says good films have no takers in the audience?” Actors Ritesh Deshmukh and Mahesh Babu also applauded the movie for its powerful storytelling.
Directed by R.S. Prasanna and written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, Sitaare Zameen Par tells the inspirational story of a basketball coach, played by Aamir Khan, who trains a team of ten differently-abled individuals for a national tournament. The film also features Genelia D’Souza as Aamir’s on-screen wife and showcases a talented ensemble of debutant actors in the players’ roles.
Produced by Aamir Khan, Aparna Purohit, and Ravi Bhagchandka, the film continues to resonate with audiences for its emotional depth and social messaging.
