Sitarist Rishab Sharma Postpones Indore Concert Amid India-Pakistan Tensions After Pahalgam Attack

May 09, 2025: In light of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the deadly Pahalgam terrorist attack, noted sitarist Rishab Sharma has postponed his scheduled concert in Indore. The performance, originally set for Friday evening, was called off just hours before its commencement.

Taking to Instagram, Rishab informed his followers:
“Hey there, Due to recent events in India and considering all safety measures the event originally scheduled for 9th May in Indore has been postponed. I truly appreciate your patience, support, and understanding during this time. We are working closely with the concerned authorities to finalize a new date, which will be announced soon.”

He also confirmed that all tickets would remain valid for the rescheduled date and advised fans to follow Odistrictupdates for further information.

The concert’s cancellation comes amid heightened security concerns following India’s Operation Sindoor, during which nine terrorist camps across the border were destroyed in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack.

As per the Indian Army, Pakistan launched coordinated drone and munition-based attacks along the Western Border and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on the night of May 8-9. Numerous ceasefire violations (CFVs) were also reported. The Indian Army stated, “The drone attacks were effectively repelled and a befitting reply was given to the CFVs. Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. All nefarious designs will be responded with force.”

Defence officials credited the indigenously developed Akash surface-to-air missile system for playing a vital role in intercepting the Pakistani drone strikes. The system, deployed by both the Indian Army and Air Force along the Pakistan border, has significantly enhanced India’s defensive posture during the ongoing crisis.
