The Mumbai Crime Branch has made a significant breakthrough in the case concerning the firing incident at superstar Salman Khan’s Bandra residence. Harpal Singh (37), the sixth accused, was apprehended from Fatehabad, Haryana. He is set to appear before the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) court in Mumbai.
Harpal Singh’s involvement came to light during the interrogation of another accused, Mohammed Rafique Choudhary. Choudhary had been financed by Singh to conduct surveillance around Salman’s residence. The plan was orchestrated by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Vishnoi, who provided shooters with the necessary instructions.
Choudhary conducted reconnaissance of Salman’s apartment building and sent a video to Anmol Vishnoi. The shooters, Pal and Gupta, were hesitant until reassured by Anmol. Sent to Mumbai in October the previous year, they faced accommodation challenges until securing a flat in March 2024.
The firing incident on April 14 outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments shocked the Bandra area. Subsequent investigations revealed ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, leading to the invocation of MCOCA. Arbaaz Khan, Salman’s brother, released a statement emphasizing the family’s cooperation with the police and denouncing claims of the incident being a publicity stunt.
