“Despite a strong start, Sky Force struggles to sustain momentum, earning Rs 86.50 crore in its first week as it braces for competition from Shahid Kapoor’s Deva.”
January 31, 2025: Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s war drama Sky Force concluded its first week at the box office with earnings of Rs 86.50 crore. Released on January 24, on the eve of Republic Day, the film opened with a promising Rs 12.25 crore but saw a significant decline in collections from Monday onward.

According to trade platform Sacnilk, Sky Force earned Rs 5.50 crore on Thursday, taking its total to Rs 86.50 crore. The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 11.84% on its seventh day.
The movie had a strong weekend, raking in Rs 22 crore on Saturday and Rs 28 crore on Sunday. However, collections dropped sharply to Rs 7 crore on Monday, raising questions about the film’s ability to reach the Rs 100 crore milestone in the face of growing competition.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared insights on the film’s performance, noting that the release of Shahid Kapoor’s Deva would be a test for Sky Force in the coming week. “With Deva releasing tomorrow, it will be interesting to see how Sky Force holds up, especially in the face of new competition,” Adarsh tweeted.
Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, Sky Force recounts the heroic story of India’s first airstrike, targeting Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the Indo-Pak war of 1965. The ensemble cast includes Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan, with Veer Pahariya making his film debut alongside Akshay Kumar, who finally broke his streak of flops with a double-digit opening.
