Sky Force Day 9 Box Office: Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya Starrer Crosses ₹90 Crore in India

The patriotic action drama, based on the 1965 Indo-Pak air war, inches closer to the ₹100 crore mark with strong weekend collections.

February 2, 2025: Sky Force, the patriotic action drama directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, continues its impressive box office run, crossing the ₹90 crore mark in India. The film, featuring Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles, was released on January 24 and has maintained steady collections despite competition from Shahid Kapoor’s Deva.

According to Sacnilk, Sky Force earned ₹4.95 crore on its ninth day, bringing its domestic total to ₹94.45 crore. The film opened with a strong ₹12.5 crore on Day 1 and amassed ₹86.5 crore in its first week. While collections dipped slightly on its second Friday, earning ₹3 crore, the film rebounded over the weekend.

Producers Maddock Films and Jio Studios also announced that Sky Force has crossed ₹100 crore in worldwide gross collections.

About the Film

Sky Force portrays Akshay Kumar as Wing Commander Kumar Om Ahuja, a fictionalized version of Om Prakash Taneja VrC, and Veer Pahariya as T Krishna Vijaya (Tabby), based on Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya MVC. Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan play their respective wives.

The film is set against the backdrop of the Sargodha airbase attack during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air war, depicting India’s first airstrike. To attract audiences, the producers offered significant discounts at multiplexes during the Republic Day weekend, boosting footfalls.

Veer Pahariya’s Big Break

In an interview with ANI, Veer Pahariya expressed his gratitude for debuting in a project honoring real-life heroes. “I gave an audition for another film, but during the look and screen tests, something caught their eye. That’s how I was chosen for Sky Force. I feel extremely fortunate to be part of a film that honours a true hero and shares his inspiring story with the world,” he shared.

With strong word of mouth and continued audience support, Sky Force is well on its way to surpassing the ₹100 crore net milestone in India.
