Sky Force Soars on Republic Day Weekend, Crosses ₹60 Crore in Opening Days

January 27, 2025: Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar and debutant Veer Pahariya, has had a flying start at the domestic box office, raking in ₹61.75 crore net in its debut weekend. The film, centered on India’s first and deadliest airstrike, capitalized on the Republic Day holiday, demonstrating significant day-by-day growth since its release on Friday.

Opening with ₹12.25 crore on its first day, the film almost doubled its collections on Saturday with ₹22 crore. According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, the Republic Day surge on Sunday brought in an impressive ₹27.50 crore, sealing a highly successful opening weekend.

In gross terms, the producers reported collections of ₹15.30 crore on Friday and ₹26.30 crore on Saturday, culminating in ₹42 crore gross over two days. Given the current momentum, Sky Force is well-positioned to cross the ₹100 crore mark before competing with Shahid Kapoor’s much-anticipated action film Deva, which releases on January 31.

Directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur, Sky Force introduces Veer Pahariya as T. Vijaya, an Indian Air Force officer who goes missing during the 1965 India-Pakistan War. Akshay Kumar stars as KO Ahuja, an IAF officer embarking on a perilous mission to rescue Vijaya. The cast also features Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur, who add emotional depth and strength to this high-stakes story of courage and camaraderie.
