Smriti Mandhana’s father Back Home From Hospital, Wedding with Palash Muchhal Remains On Hold

While cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, has been discharged from the hospital after suffering heart-attack-like symptoms on the wedding day, the ceremony with music composer Palash Muchhal remains indefinitely postponed as both families prioritize full recovery.

November 26, 2025: The anticipated wedding of star Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal remains on hold, even after the bride’s father was released from the hospital.

Shrinivas Mandhana, who was rushed to Sarvhit Hospital in Sangli on Sunday, November 23—the original wedding date—after experiencing heart-attack-like symptoms, was discharged on Tuesday morning, November 25.

Medical Crisis Halts Celebrations

The sudden medical emergency forced the families to halt the wedding ceremonies just as they were about to conclude. According to hospital management, Shrinivas Mandhana’s condition is now completely stable, and he is out of danger. Doctors performed an angiography, which showed no blockages, relieving the family.

Despite the positive health update, both families have confirmed that wedding plans will not resume immediately. Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, had previously stated, “Smriti is very clear that she wants her father to recover first and then resume the wedding. It has been indefinitely postponed.”

Emotional Toll on the Groom

The emotional strain of the sudden emergency also took a severe toll on the groom-to-be, Palash Muchhal. A day after his father-in-law’s hospitalization, Palash himself was admitted briefly to a hospital in Sangli due to emotional stress and distress before being shifted to Mumbai.

Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, revealed the depth of his connection to Smriti’s father. “Palash ko uncle se bahut zyada attachment hai… Smriti se zyada yeh dono close hain (Palash is extremely attached to uncle… they are closer than even Smriti is to him),” she shared with Hindustan Times. She also confirmed that it was Palash who insisted on the postponement of the pheras (final wedding ritual) until Shrinivas Mandhana fully recovered.

Social Media Activity Sparks Rumours

Adding to the speculation, Smriti Mandhana has removed all wedding-related content—including engagement announcements and the viral proposal video—from her social media accounts. This move was mirrored by her teammates, including Jemimah Rodrigues, who also took down related posts.

However, sources close to the family and Palash’s sister, singer Palak Muchhal, have urged the public not to speculate about the relationship, confirming the deletion of posts was purely a reflection of the family’s current focus on privacy and recovery.

With the families now focusing on the complete recuperation of Shrinivas Mandhana, the new wedding date remains unannounced, leaving fans of the star couple eagerly awaiting news of their rescheduled union.
