Seema, who divorced actor-filmmaker Sohail Khan, said the most jarring moment was how impersonal the court process felt.

“The way they call your name like you’re at a railway station… yelling your name while people stare. You feel so small, so insignificant, so dispensable. When the judge finally said ‘Granted,’ it felt like something died within me,” she recalled.

Avantika Malik, who separated from actor Imran Khan in 2019, echoed Seema’s pain.

“The last time I went to court, I told my lawyer—‘If I ever think it’s a good idea to marry again, please remind me of this moment,’” she said, with brutal honesty.

Both women described how the reality of marriage can shift over time. Seema admitted,

“At one point, I would’ve blamed everything on him. But over time you realize—it’s not about blame. The real deal-breaker is when you stop laughing together.”

Seema, who appeared on The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, also mentioned how her ex-fiancé Vikram Ahuja has reentered her life romantically, a fact that surfaced in Season 3 of the Netflix show.

Avantika, now a mixologist, spoke candidly about the grief she experienced.

“I thought I would die if my marriage ended. When it did, I cried like someone in my immediate family had died. I wasn’t earning at that time and felt completely lost.”

Yet, both women also emphasized growth. “You reach a point where you stop hating and start accepting. Life is short—be happy,” said Seema.
