Ajay Devgn’s comedy-drama collected a robust ₹24.75 crore in its opening weekend, significantly outperforming Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s romantic film.
August 4, 2025: Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 won the weekend box office battle by a large margin, making almost twice as much money as Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Dhadak 2. The most essential thing to remember from the weekend is that neither movie did as well as the recent hit Saiyaara.
Sources in the trade say that Son of Sardaar 2 generated a lot of money—₹24.75 crore—on its first weekend. The movie kept making money, and on Sunday it made the greatest money in a single day (₹9.25 crore). Dhadak 2, on the other hand, had trouble getting people to see movie and only made ₹11.50 crore in its first weekend.
Theaters are now playing both movies, although neither has gotten as much attention from audiences as Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara. The love story is still doing well, as it made more than ₹300 crore in its third weekend of release. This makes it one of the biggest hits since COVID.
