Sonakshi- Mukesh Fracas: Sonakshi Issues Warning To Khanna Over Comments

Sonakshi calls Mukesh Khanna’s statements “distasteful” and asks him to stop using her name to stay relevant.

December 17, 2024: Sonakshi Sinha has strongly responded to Mukesh Khanna’s recent remarks blaming her father, Shatrughan Sinha, for her inability to answer a question about the Ramayana on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) in 2019. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Sonakshi criticised Mukesh for repeatedly bringing up the incident to gain attention at the expense of her and her family.

Sonakshi Responds to Mukesh’s Remarks

Mukesh Khanna, in a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, reignited the old controversy, saying it was Shatrughan Sinha’s fault that his daughter Sonakshi couldn’t correctly answer a question about Hanuman and the Sanjeevani Booti.

Reacting to this, Sonakshi wrote on Instagram:
“Dear Sir, Mukesh Khanna ji… I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back. Firstly, let me remind you there were two women on the hot seat that day who did not know the answer to the same question, but you choose to keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons which are quite obvious.”

Sonakshi Defends Herself and Her Family

Sonakshi explained that her momentary lapse was a “human tendency” and urged Mukesh to move on from the incident. She also reminded him of the values of forgiveness in the Ramayana, writing:
“Yes, I may have blanked out that day and forgotten who the Sanjeevani Booti was brought for, but clearly, you have also forgotten some of the lessons of forgive and forget taught by Lord Ram himself… Surely you can let go of this extremely small thing in comparison. Not that I need your forgiveness. But yes, I definitely need you to forget and stop bringing up the same incident time and again.”

Warning Mukesh Against “Distasteful” Remarks

Sonakshi also addressed Mukesh’s comments about her upbringing, warning him not to target her family values:
“The next time you decide to say anything about the values my father has instilled in me… please remember it’s because of those values that I have only said what I said, very respectfully, after you decided to make some distasteful statements about my upbringing.”

Mukesh Khanna’s Controversial Statement

During the interview, Mukesh Khanna, known for his portrayal of Shaktimaan, indirectly referenced the 2019 incident and claimed that modern parenting was to blame. Speaking about Sonakshi, he said:
“I said it’s not Sonakshi’s fault; it’s her father’s fault. Why did you not tell your kids? Why did you let them be so modern?”
