Sonakshi Sinha Celebrates Shatrughan Sinha’s Lok Sabha Win

Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha emerged victorious from the Asansol constituency in West Bengal in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. Celebrating her father’s political win, actor Sonakshi Sinha took to Instagram to thank the people of Asansol. “Thank you to the people of Asansol,” she wrote.

Shatrughan Sinha won by a margin of 59,564 votes, defeating BJP candidate Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia. Asansol voted in Phase 4 of the election on May 13, 2024. Before voting day, Sonakshi urged people to support her father, describing him as a leader with integrity and vision.

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections saw the BJP winning 240 seats, a drop from its 2019 tally of 303, while Congress showed strong growth with 99 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi secured a third term, but the BJP fell 32 seats short of a majority and will need coalition support.
